This is the quote that inspired my "Witches" Tarot Card Box. It never fails to send shivers down my spine. I first read it on the Twitter page of Treadwell's Bookshop and just knew I had to create a design around it. (If you don't already follow Treadwell's, by the way, you're missing so much). There are three new boxes on the website, actually, and they are the reason there was no blog post last Monday. (Sorry). The original four have all gone to new homes now so I felt I'd better get a move on. When there's only you running a business (and all my fellow crafters and artisans know exactly what I'm going to say), you can't do every job that needs doing in a day so you have to prioritise, and last week the making side won. Eighteen hour days are a regular feature in my timetable - in the small hours, I often think of my fellow makers working away in their sheds and attics and kitchens ... Where are the elves? Where ARE the elves?!
Actually, I'd love to do some blog posts on "makers and their work spaces". If you're interested, drop me an email ... we could have a Pinterest board, too. What do you think?
Talking of Pinterest, I've put the new Tarot Card Boxes on the Tarot board and have also started putting up pics of some of my favourite decks. What's your favourite? I've collected many decks over the years but I only ever use one for readings. It's the first deck I ever owned (the Mandala Astrological Tarot created by A. T. Mann). It's quite unusual. I'm not sure it's still in print. There are probably second hand copies available on Amazon and such, but I have to say, I'd never use second hand cards myself - no matter how carefully you cleansed them, I'd still be worried about other people's vibrations lingering on, even if they weren't necessarily negative vibrations.
Am making a fourth Tarot Card Box - in a treasure chest shape, something a bit different to work on. I'm thinking hares ... Can't wait to get started!
And I know it's only June but I've already started designing Sisters 2016 diary covers. Do you like the blog logo? I'm toying with using something along those lines ...
Don't forget to let me know if you'd like to share your work space here, and don't forget your Summer Solstice altar candles! How will you be celebrating?
Hope your week is productive, love, Liss, x
